August 2009.
Mill-Max
announces the development of a unique, low-profile, compliant body socket receptacle capable of press-fitting in FR-4 mounting holes between .041” - .044” (1,04mm – 1,12mm) in diameter.
Featuring the Mill-Max #10 contact clip rated at 2 amps, this new discrete receptacle is ideal for socketing devices with miniature .010” - .017” (0,25mm – 0,43mm) component leads.
The sleek bullet-shaped body assists in centering the receptacle into mounting holes, and the shell features a wide-mouth countersink entry to guide delicate device leads inside.
Manufactured using brass alloy on high-speed precision screw machines, this receptacle is gold- plated on both the shell and contact surfaces for optimal conductivity and highest quality.
Mill-Max part 4993-0-15-15-10-27-10-0 is RoHS compliant.
Sample: 5,000 pieces = $260.30/K; availability = 2 weeks.

| July 2009.
Fujitsu has
introduced a vertical, surface-mount DDR2 (double data rate) DIMM (dual in-line memory module) socket connector with an enhanced contact design and 0.1mm lead coplanarity. The new 240-position, FCN-078J series card-edge socket features a patented, split-beam contact structure that improves module mating reliability. As a memory module is inserted into the socket, the unique twin-contact’s wiping action removes dust and flux residue and provides a robust connection between the module and socket even in high-vibration environments. Dual latching mechanisms ensure correct module retention and removal.
The RoHS-compliant, FCN-078J uses Fujitsu’s own precision stamping and molding technology to achieve 0.1mm coplanarity before and after reflow. This low-coplanarity specification contributes to improved manufacturing throughput yields. Applications include blade servers, switches, routers, telecom racks, and test and measurement equipment to minimize occupied board space and improve air flow.

March 2009.
Mill-Max
expands its line of relay and oscillator sockets by introducing six new series with unique patterns, bringing our total to ten.
Relay sockets accept devices with I/O pins on .100" grid. They make device field insertion and removal easy and convenient. Assembled with precision screw machine receptacles and packaged in high temperature thermoplastic insulators, Mill-Max relay sockets can be exposed to reflow temperatures.
New series 110…10-00X (X = 2-5) relay sockets are available in 4, 6, 8, 14 and 16 pin configurations. Mill-Max relay sockets use MM#1001 receptacles assembled with a hi-rel, 4 finger #30 contact rated at 3 amps.
This product is available in RoHS and non-RoHS plating configurations.

Xmultiple
has introduced its new X-Sealant
Gel which can be used
on any connector in harsh environments. This unique gel
provides protection from corrosion or contact wear in
normal or harsh environmental situations.
The gel is available or tubes, or for volume users, larger
containers. The gel resists temperatures to
750 degrees F and eliminates
oxidation due to humidity or other environmental elements.

January 2008. Check out
Fujitsu
Components new connector web site!
You will notice several different changes:
1. We now have our search engine back via part number
for connectors.
2. It will have a different "touch and feel",
which we hope will help our potential customers to
easily navigate the site.
3. We have updated the list of product offering, which
promotes our standard "HOT" components (and
is listed in terms of importance).

| August 2007.
Expanding its PCMCIA card connector
offering, Fujitsu Components America
has introduced a very
low-profile connector for micro SD/TransFlash cards.
With a mounted height
of 1.6mm, it is the lowest profile connector currently
available for micro SD cards.
Featuring Fujitsus precise
die-and-molding technology, the FCN-560 series micro
SD connector measures 15mm(D) x 14mm(W) x 1.6mm (H)
and has a life cycle of ten thousand insertions/withdrawals.
The connector uses a proprietary
push-push structure that provides positive tactile
feedback during card insertion and withdrawal. A card
drop protection mechanism prevents the card from falling
out during pre-insertion and forced card extraction
after its locked in. When ejected, the card
travels 3.5mm from its locked position.
The micro SD card connector offers
a rated voltage of 5 Vac/dc and current of 0.5 A.
Contact resistance is 100 mohm (initial) and the dielectric
withstand voltage is 500 Vac for one minute. The operating
temperature range is -20°C to 70°C.

July 2007. Xmultiple's
UltraJax is a whole new technology for RJ connectors.
The UltraJax
single port design offers a dual function RJ style
connector which performs like two RJ45's, four RJ11's
or both RJ45 and RJ12 or RJ11 combination depending
on your application.
Imagine having this functionality with half the space
and cost. The UltraJax contact assemblies are housed
with both eight contacts on top and eight on the bottom
which makes the connector capable of performing multiple
functions. The UltraJax can withstand a harsher environment
and are more durable than the standard RJ connectors
as the contacts are not exposed.

April 2004.
Fujitsu Components America
has expanded its high-speed copper microGiGaCNTM
connector series by adding a vertical board-mount
I/O socket. The new socket expands Fujitsus
offering of standard, copper I/O and mid-plane interconnects
that comply with InfiniBand®, 10G CX4 Ethernet,
and 10G Fiber Channel requirements while meeting
the needs of other high-speed applications. For distances
less than 20m, the microGiGaCN series provides a low-cost
alternative to optical fiber. Optimized for differential
signal transmission of 3.125 Gbps and above over standard,
FR-4 material, the new microGiGaCN FCN-260(D) vertical
socket is available in 4x and 12x versions with latches
for InfiniBand applications. Download

Mill-Max offers two new pin/socket interconnect pairs for high-density
grid applications such as the termination of medical cables. Both
pin and receptacle are manufactured using precision turning technology.
The receptacle shell is seamless and sturdy, and comes assembled with
a hi-rel BeCu spring contact that makes excellent electrical and mechanical
contact to the mating pin. Insertion/extraction forces are low permitting
their use in high-density arrays. All components are gold-plated.
Interconnect pairs are suitable for .050" and 2mm pitch grid
applications. Both the male pins and female receptacles are terminated
with back holes for the attachment of fine gage instrument wires.
