John Hunter is one of the partners of PEI Electronic Sales, and he enjoyed a self-described "brilliant career in distribution" before going into the rep business. In that previous life he held sales and management positions with Kent Electronics, Arrow Electronics, and Time Electronics (now part of Avnet). John stills carries an account base in eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas, but spends the majority of his time with the daily management of the firm.

John grew up in Richardson, TX and graduated from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas) in Denton. John and his wife Judy live in Richardson, and in his free time he enjoys golf, hunting and fishing. Judy and John have a grown daughter, Jennifer. John is also known to fire up a stogie, as shown in the "photograph" below.
