| August 2008. Bivar is pleased to announce the addition of the UVTZ Series of High Efficiency Ultraviolet LEDs. The new UV LEDs represent an evolutionary step in the expansion of UV product offerings. Bivar was one of the first to offer an industry standard high powered Ultraviolet (UV) LED Series in early 2002 with the introduction of the T-1 (3mm) and T-1 3/4 (5mm) 400nm UV devices. The UV series has shown recent customer interest in further development of improved wavelength devices in industry-standard packages. |

FlexiCap™
has been developed as a result of listening to customers’
experiences of stress damage to MLCC’s from many
manufacturers, often caused by variations in production
processes. Our answer is a proprietary flexible epoxy
polymer termination material, that is applied to the device
under the usual nickel barrier finish. FlexiCap™
will accommodate a greater degree of board bending than
conventional capacitors.
Although normally applied to X7R and X8R dielectrics, it is also available as an option for C0G/NP0 ceramic dielectrics. The FlexiCap™ termination can be applied to many of the Syfer product range, including: - standard MLCC capacitors The benefit to the user is to facilitate a wider process window - giving a greater safety margin and substantially reducing the typical root causes of mechanical stress cracking. September 2005. NOVACAP is changing the color of the conformal coat for its LE series of radial products from blue to gold. The change will affect DSCC and SCD products, too. The manufacturing change is being made to standardize the product offering so that all of conformal coated products manufactured will have the new “Gold Standard” color. The color change is accomplished by the use of a different pigment in the material. All characteristics are exactly the same and the change is only cosmetic! In fact, the data sheet for the gold coating is the same and shows two colors. The color change does not affect the form, fit or function of the capacitor in any way. The cured properties of the blue and gold colored material are identical in all respects, including: impact strength, specific gravity, glass transition, coefficient of thermal expansion, dielectric constant, dissipation factor, resistivity, and dielectric strength. NOVACAP reserves the right to ship either color epoxy during the transition period to fill your open orders. As inventories are depleted, all products will be gold. |

NOVACAP has received TUV Approval for an increased
range of capacitance to 1500pF for its LS 1808 X7R Safety
Certified Capacitors . The new capacitance range is 150pF
to 1500pF.
